ABOUT TROY OLIVER

Savannah is my home. I am a local. I was born in the coastal empire and attended Jenkins High School and Armstrong State University. My dad worked for the University of Georgia at the Skidaway Institute of Oceanography. My mom retired from Union Camp. I raise my children here. We play soccer off Sallie Mood. I absolutely love this city and it’s people. I love the food and I love the history. I married Donna, another Savannah local whom I attended school with and the love of my life. My family and I worship at Bible Baptist Church. By God’s grace, he saved me at this church in my early twenties and continues to awe me daily through the community that we have here. I am able to serve the church by teaching adult Sunday school and singing in the choir. My wife also works for the pastor as his executive assistant. Wether on vacation, at work, or serving on mission trips, I have been all over the world and no matter how great those places are, I always find in myself a craving to get back home and smell the marsh at low tide. Savannah is my dream home and I have no plans of ever leaving.

My grandma, who lived on 34th and Price, use to say “make sure your yes is yes and your no is no.” This has always been important to me. My reputation as a Christian, a husband, a father, and business owner are vitally important to who I am. I'm definitely not perfect, but I am purposeful, passionate and sincere about everything that I do. By God’s grace, I strive to live in such a way that, on the day I take my last breath, I will be remembered as a servant of Christ, a faithful husband, a loving father, and an honest man. I long to hear the words, “well done my good and faithful servant.” -Matthew 25:21
